Environmental and Leadership Management Program

Session One: May 2006

Session one's focus was on leadership development. Module topics included: empathetic listening skills, ways of looking at leadership, four frames of leadership, peer group meetings, making change happen, logic models roles and functions of people in groups, and making meetings effective. Participants also had the opportunity to take two of four management clinics. Those topics included: budget management, supervision, engaging volunteers, working with your board.

Participants were also given free time to reflect, relax and recharge. As part of this free time we also visited local sites including a straw bale home.

Participants also engaged in some personal reflection and developed personal and organizational plans that they would carry out and report on at session II.
