Good to Great Program

Session Three: November 2011

The third and final last session of the 2010-2011 Good to Great Learning Network was held from Monday, November 7th to Wednesday, November 9th at the Gibraltar Point Centre for the Arts on the Toronto Island.

Staff and board members from the six participating environmental NGOs met to report to peers on their DMA projects and to learn about the Aspen Institute’s theory of change planning tool.  The theory of change component was designed to provide participants with greater clarity about the long term outcomes they are seeking through their organizational efforts.

Experiences and feedback were shared through discussion, reflections and other activities such as peer consulting and meetings of organizational teams.  Informal  “fireside chats” with Rick Smith of Environmental Defence and Andre Vallillee of the Ontario Trillium Foundation provided participants with the opportunity to go one-on-one with sector leaders in an informal setting.  Participants also gathered to celebrate the past 12 months of learning, organizational development and friendships that, together, resulted in a highly successful capacity building experience.
