Western Boreal Learning Network

Session Four: November - December 2011

This fourth session will focus on engaging partners for boreal sustainability. Within this theme, we will examine and explore the opportunities and challenges presented by the Canadian Boreal Forest Agreement (CBFA), the Northern Gateway Pipeline Project, and the oil sands in Alberta. We will also look at how First Nations work with their tribal councils and associations,
and how a First Nations environmental NGO and charity works with its community and partners.

The fourth session of the Western Boreal Learning Network took place on November 29 - December 1 at the Brew Creek Centre, Whistler, BC. Twenty-three participants from Manitoba, Ontario, British Columbia and Quebec attended.
