Diversity in Governance for Environmental NGOs workshop

Oakham House, Ryerson Student Centre, Ryerson University
63 Gould Street, Toronto
Time: 5:30pm - 8:30pm
Facilitator: Catherine Winter, Manager, DiverseCity onBoard, Maytree

Diversity is an integral part of the Canadian landscape. Visible minorities and under-represented immigrant communities make up an increasing percentage of the GTA’s population, yet they are under-represented at the senior-most leadership positions.

Most of the environmental NGOs (ENGOs) today have limited diversity and don’t reflect or authentically engage the communities they serve. Organizations realize that if they want to make a difference and to benefit from bridging the gap between ENGOS and cultural groups, they need to become more diverse and inclusive. The question often remains how to go about it.
