YOUTH ENGAGEMENT PLAN TOOKIT PDF

In this workshop you can presubmit a scenario or question you are struggling with around working with and engaging youth in your organization. Youth Climate Lab will also have example scenarios to show and build off of.

Some examples of scenarios will include:

- You’re trying to build a youth council for your organization, what steps will you take?
- You want to make sure youth are included and engaged at your upcoming conference, whose attendees will mainly be working professionals, what steps can you take to ensure youth participation?

After presenting an example we will split into 2 or 3 breakout groups and facilitate conversations offering tailored advice on your scenarios in order to provide relevant and practical solutions from our team of youth engagement staff. Youth Climate Lab will provide a resource list and information after the workshop which will be customized to the information attendees provide upon registration so each attendees will leave with knowledge and resources relevant to their work.

Workshop 2: Refining Your Youth Engagement Plan

October 16th, 1:00-2:30 PM ET

Facilitators: Cory Witter, Kate Ashwood

In this final workshop, Youth Climate Lab will present the final learnings from the series as a reference document for steps to take when creating your organization's youth engagement strategy.

Youth Climate Lab will showcase how to evaluate a youth engagement strategy, and then will deep dive into 3 engagement strategies submitted by attendees. YCL will facilitate an interactive, generative conversation between attendees to provide group feedback and work through improvements on the strategy.

Participants will learn how to critically look at youth engagement strategies, common mistakes, and improvement areas and leave the workshop feeling more confident in effectively engaging youth in an intentional and long lasting way.

We will follow up with participants providing resources to use or further reading opportunities going forward.
