ABOUT

ENGO challenges include negotiating the ever-growing number of technologies and platforms, seeking the best database (CRM), online engagement/organizing and building bench strength in planning and implementing technology and data-based projects. Leveraging data and technology has great potential to advance missions and multiply impact.

Nonprofit Tech Readiness Program

To help ENGOs gather and leverage data to meet their organizational missions, as well as build capacity to plan and implement organization-wide technology projects, we collaborated with NTEN to offer their popular Nonprofit Tech Readiness Program to the ENGO community in Canada.

Designed for non-profit professionals who want to improve their technology leadership skills and capacity to manage tech projects across an organization, this program is both successful and well-established. NTEN has run over 45 cohorts of this program to date, including 1,000 organizations in various geographies and interest areas for more than 12 years.

The first cohort of 21 ENGOs met from the fall of 2024 through the spring of 2025, successfully completing the inaugural Canadian NTR program.

Responsible AI for ENGOs: A Partnership with Skills4Good AI

In mid July 2025 119 members of the Sustainability Network participated in a specially designed ENGO cohort free week-long RAI Starter Course. Upon completion of that introduction 17 graduates received sponsored spots ($547 value) in the 3 month fall 2025 Responsible AI Fast Track Memberships.

Out of all the environmental professionals who applied across Canada, these environmental leaders stood out as ready to lead in the age of AI. They comprise Canada's first Responsible AI Literacy initiative for environmental nonprofits. They're learning about Responsible AI but also helping to shape it into a force for good so it can be a force multiplier for conservation, sustainability, and advocacy.
